“Being challenged in life is inevitable, being defeated is optional.”
Being community-based and volunteer-driven is very challenging! It means we always need to come up with creative ways to be better and do more with what we have, how little that maybe.
To this end, we are blessed to have the best volunteers in the world!!
But while our hunger heroes and FoodBlessed partners are a huge reason why we can keep doing what we do best and that’s ‘feeding the hungry, one meal at a time’, our fundraisers also play a huge role in sustaining our activities!!!
We’ve hosted a HUGE number various fundraisers over the years –from #foodblesseddrives to #foodblessedconcerts to #foodblessedBikeRides to #foodblessedquiznights and #foodblessedBikerallypaper and the list goes on and on and on. All proved to be SUCCESSful thanks to our #foodblessedPartners and Hunger Heroes!
Today we want to share this footage from our last bake sale that was part of What If It Was Me? – Live Bands & Exhibition last week. This video would not have been possible was it not for the brilliant Hunger Hero Mariam Majdoline Lahham and Creagraphy sarl <3
We can’t thank them enough for reaching out to us and offering to share these wonderful foodblessed moments with the rest of you!
Like Mariam, we hope they inspire and encourage you to… ♪♫♬ “want something just like this. Doo-doo-doo, doo-doo-doo, Doo-doo-doo” ♪♫♬

AUB Course Project For FoodBlessed

May 11th, 2017 Posted by News No Comment yet

Today we want to introduce 5 special Hunger Heroes! Hunger Heroes Tracy Kachouh, Carol Mousharrafieh , Joanna Raichouni Michelle Atallah and Lynn Atallah . They are majoring in marketing in the American University of Beirut and for their course project picked to do their paper on FoodBlessed! Our Volunteer Director Hunger Hero Ibrahim attended their presentation and had nothing but good things to say about it! As for the team, this is what they had to say about the whole experience!

“As marketing concentration students, we are taking a course in public relations. The project of this course was to choose any company or NGO and help them to reach their objectives by a PR Campaign. Our group chose FoodBlessed as a main NGO, and their project Souper Meals on Wheels or SMW as the project to work on. Why SMW? Through all what Lebanon is passing through, and through all the crisis Lebanese people are suffering from, every one might think that I only have time for myself and for my own problems. But on the contrary, we find out that people are dedicating themselves and their time for such a great cause, which is the basic human right of every individual. Not only do they provide the needy people with the physical food but the emotional effects they leave in them are irreplaceable. So, as young university students, we decided to help this organization to reach it goals and to kind of thank them for their efforts on behalf of all Lebanese citizens.” –Tracy, Carol, Joanna, Michelle, and Lynn

FoodBlessed At The Druze Orphanage (Beit Al-Yateem)

May 9th, 2017 Posted by News No Comment yet

Hunger Heroes Diana, Ibrahim, and Ali drove to Abey and distributed 480 Kinder Joy eggs at “The Druze Orphanage (Beit Al-Yateem)!!

Kinder joy, not quite the regular chocolate surprise eggs you’d think, they’re even better. All we can say is that from our experience, kids absolutely loves these things. They actually play with the toy inside and love the sweet mess on the other side of the egg. We’re just glad it comes with a spoon/scoop to scrape out the candy. If you don’t believe us you can ask the 480 kids at “The Druze Orphanage (Beit Al-Yateem) who each received one of these eggs!!! By the way, did we mention that out hunger heroes enjoy these eggs as well, don’t believe us? You should have seen the look at Hunger Heroes Diana and Ibrahim face!

Special thank you to Madame Hayat el Nakadi who is in charge of the orphanage for opening their doors to us!
